week 1 - 4 (continued)
i stepped out of the bathroom with an extra-wide grin on my face. i wanted to run to Tomcat and tell him about it but i thought it would be more impactful if i told him when we were in bed. and so i waited. we had dinner (he cooked) and later i washed the dishes.
but then, he did something that really annoyed me. i was still annoyed by the time we went to bed, so i decided not to tell him then. and of course he didn't notice anything (men...).
the next morning, i was in a much better mood. as we were getting ready to go to work, i grabbed his hand and told him that i had something to show him. i took out the used home-pregnancy test kit and read out the result to him. at first, he didn't seem to comprehend what was going on, and so i told him boldly, "That means, I'm pregnant." That seemed to work.
he smiled, hugged me and kissed my forehead. but truthfully, i didn't know what was really going on in his mind.
though i was confident that i was already pregnant, i wanted to do a second test a week later. and we were to hold our excitement until then. at work, i searched the internet for articles about pregnancy and the early symptoms of it, just to be really sure that i was pregnant. true enough, most of the symptoms described did happen to me. i had a bad constipation and was frequently urinating. i was lucky that i didn't experience morning sickness, though later the sickness occured in the evening. i started losing appetite and survived on saltine crackers and orange juice.
