since my mind is mostly preoccupied with my pregnancy, i decided to turn this blog into my personal "diary" of pregnancy. i hope i can share the experience with other mothers and mothers-to-be, and maybe provide some useful information to those women who are planning to have a baby.
i'm now in week 11 of my pregnancy, but i can still remember how i felt and what happened during those earlier weeks.
week 1 - 4
normally the duration of pregnancy is measured from the first day of the woman's last menstrual period. but in actual fact, conception date is somewhere from day 12 - 16 (this is true to women with menstrual cycle of 28 days like me). i found a very useful website - http://www.pregnancy.org/ - which gives quite an accurate date of conception, given that you know either your first day of the last menstrual period or the expected date of birth of the baby. using the chart, and referring to my personal calendar, i'm pretty much confident that my baby was conceived on 3 August 2007.
i already suspected that i was pregnant when i was (in actual fact) pregnant for 2 1/2 weeks. i was only 1 day late, but i had a strong feeling that this time around it wasn't false alarm. i took the home pregnancy test without my husband's knowledge because i didn't want him telling me not to get too disappointed (like he already did a few times before) if it turned out that i wasn't pregnant. i remember the day (Monday, 20 August) and time (around 9 -- Tomcat was in the kitchen washing the dishes). at first there was only the blue line (negative) and i was ready to get disappointed. but after about a minute, a faint pink line (positive) began to appear. it remained faint, but there was no doubt that it was there. i stared at it for a long time, expecting it to disapper, but it stayed on...
to be continued...
